New model Toyota Prius

The Detroit Motor show has seen the launch of the next generation Toyota Prius, the world’s best selling hybrid car.

Toyota has improved the aerodynamics of the car which has given a sportier look with a lower roof and sharper creases, the design cues for the model are taken from the current Aygo and Yaris models.

Power has been increased to 98bhp, yet due to improved efficiencies, the third generation Prius will return 50 mpg and emit less then 100g/km of CO2. UK sales are expected to begin mid-late 2009.
